Caving clubs in the US are called Grottos and are organized locally, state, and nationally. Texas has eight Grottos.

Caver Affiliations
There are many Texas organizations dedicated to caves for acquisition, exploration, discovery, protection, conservation, preservation, and recreation.
Texas Cave Management Association
The TCMA is a nonprofit organization that protects caves and karst resources in Texas since 1986. It offers volunteer, donation, and membership opportunities.
Texas Speleological Association
The TSA is a not-for-profit organization that supports cave exploration and cave studies by cavers in and around the state of Texas. It is comprised of members and clubs. It is an internal organization of the National Speleological Society (NSS).
Texas Speleological Survey
The TSS is a non-profit corporation established in 1960 to collect, organize, and maintain information on Texas caves and karst (the term for a landscape likely to contain caves.
National Speleological Society
The Bexar Grotto is a chapter of the NSS. Founded in 1941, the NSS is the largest membership organization dedicated to caves & caving. Composed of over 8,000 members and 250+ local chapters – known as Grottos, the NSS works to connect cavers so they can work on exploring, studying, and conserving caves worldwide.
